Photobucket

DAVIDsTEA. New obsession.  These two flavors really are on the top of my 'to try' list: Amaretto and Strawberry Rhubarb

These Tops. This would in no way flatter me, but I still imagine.

I Think I may try my hand at making these cheesy crackers from over at A Beautiful Mess.

I love Nautical.

Fancy Favorites #14: Winter Coat Edition

Campy Attributes Fancy Favorites

I have a standard black Peacoat that is my winter coat. This coat has been in my life since high school, sat neglected a few years, and has been worn out since moving to Alaska and Minneapolis for my short stint. So now I have decided not to put that coat in retirement, but let it have some short breaks this winter by adding a new coat to the mix. I present to you, all the options I have considered thus far....

(downside to this coat is the only 1 or 2 buttons. In the cold, full closure is prettty essential.)

Man, and I am running across more and more each day. Soon will be the time to invest, just which one when I can't try them on before hand, it makes it so much harder...

Frank Gaard: Poison & Candy

Frank Gaard Walker Art Center
This past week I made a point to walk down to the Walker Art Center to see a new exhibit  on Minnesota artist Frank Gaard, called Poison & Candy. I am a huge art lover, but overall love just letting other people take it in and form their own opinions.
I really enjoy this exhibit, the colors and themes were wonderful, but Ill let you just take a look and make your own opinions. Enjoy!

This last panel is one of Frank Gaard's Art Police comics. There was another huge section dedicated to these, but I knew a photo would not be able to accurately capture the images. Make sure to check out Frank Gaard Blog for more!

Aren't They Beautiful?: Street Art

street art banner

Needing to hit up an art store in downtown Minneapolis, Nick and I ventured out for a nice 4 mile round trip walk. Up until this point, anytime we had been in the heart of downtown, we had driven for one reason or another, and it made me loathe downtown with all my heart.  To me downtown was traffic, stoplights, too many one way streets, and pure frustration.

BUT NOW. I know downtown as the place with lots of little bits of street art. And this my friends, makes any city a bit more tolerable.

Aren't they Beautiful?: Murals

Campy Attributes Street Art

I love Murals. Well...okay, not ALL murals. But, an outdoor mural...on a building...is awesome, almost always.  In the same respect, I really (most of the times) love graffiti. I just love the color and expression that these two things can bring to an urban landscape. Each day when I walk to work, I catch a  glimpse of the paintings below outside a local coffee shop, and they instantaneously brighten my day.

Aren't They Beautiful?: Coveting

Alright, So I have a few items I am coveting, and do not want to order until after I move to Minneapolis for a few reasons:

A) I don't want to have to pack this shit
B) I want money for the actual drive down to Minneapolis
C) I might fall in love with some version of these things in a store right in town when I get there
D) I might change my mind about these items (not really, I have been coveting, researching prices, sizes, etc for these items for quite some time now, and they haven't fallen off my radar yet...sooo)

Without further adieu, the items: (shout out to Kristen for scouring the interwebs and finding some great deals for me when I was frustrated with the results in size, style, price that I was finding...)

Nude Pump

Okay, so I don't wear heels hardly EVER, but I feel that a thick heeled (for my stability) nude pump would come in handy SO much (esp. in spring/fall). So I was trying to find the combo of my size, decent price and thick heel. These fit the bill.

These are the close I have come so far. There is definitely a style i like more, but I cannot find that style in the correct size without paying in the $150-$200 range, and that just makes me sad.

Multi-Purpose Black Winter Boots

So the boot to the left, I own it already. I want the SAME EXACT ONES in black, which they do make. Now, I usually shy away from getting the same of anything in just different colors, but man...these boots make me so happy. They have such good TREAD. And living in Alaska ( and now moving to Minneapolis) it is a MUST for winter. These boots allow me to be cute, wear dresses, and not fall on my ass simply walking to my car. Yes please.

And finally, my obsession with the two fabrics of Lace and Burlap continue. Newest find:

All for Now, I suppose. I just have to share these obsessions somewhere, or I start to talk to nick about them, and get disapproving looks.

Weekly: Aren't they Beautiful

Those who know me know that for the longest time (well...really the only women to ever top the list) of the most beautiful woman in hollywood was Angelina Jolie. There would be others who came along and they always were very close in ranks for the positions of 2-5:

**Rachel McAdams**Mandy Moore**Kerry Washington**Jean Seberg**Anne Hathaway**Kate Winslet**Natalie Portman**

But finally, Someone has taken the thrown from Angie. This has been growing, and seeing her on the cover of 'Bust' Magazine yesterday at Barnes and Noble solidified it. The most beautiful woman, hands down, in Hollywood is America Ferrera.

Really.

I basically want to look exactly like her. I suppose I need to work on the 'Latin heritage' portion first...

Aren't They Beautiful?: A New Hero of Mine? (And most people know, these are few and far between)

Where his 'hero' status comes in:

"While he is steeped in all matters locavore and was a moving force behind the White House garden, Mr. Kass has no formal culinary training and has never run a restaurant or hotel kitchen. (He graduated with a history degree from the University of Chicago and honed his culinary skills at Avec, a Chicago restaurant, before becoming a private chef.)

...And now he not only cooks, but sits and talks policy, in the White House, at age 29? This is a man I woudl like to sit down with, I can say that much.
